Congratulations Gincor and Welcome Canada Meat

Sep 17, 2018 | News, President & CEO News Articles

Congratulations go out to Luc Stang and his entire team at Gincor Truck & Trailer Werx, on being named as one of the fastest growing companies in Canada, for a fourth year in a row.  This is quite an accomplishment, not only to be recognized once, but for four consecutive years, outstanding.  The Gincor team, with its head office located in Mattawa, is a real success story that has been achieved through hard work, determination and teamwork.  The entire region is proud of your accomplishments.

It was a pleasure to host the ground-breaking ceremonies at the Airport Industrial Park with Invest North Bay and the Economic Development department from the City of North Bay.  The addition of upwards of forty jobs and the establishment of a new business to North Bay is always an exciting day.

The company, Canada Meat Group Inc. are new to Canada from Kiev, Ukraine and will operate a meat processing plant and cold storage facility.  The Chamber and its members extend a big welcome to North Bay, for our new Ukrainian residents.

Last Tuesday evening at the Grande Event Centre, the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce hosted a “Meet and Greet” for candidates vying for a seat on North Bay City Council, along with the candidates for the Mayoral seat.  The event attracted a crowd of about 500 interested citizens, taking the opportunity to ask questions of the candidates, in an informal setting.  Lots of interaction and discussion amongst the attendees and most came away with a better insight into each of the candidate’s platforms and vision for the future.

With the municipal elections just over six weeks away, the Chamber will also be hosting a series of “Meet & Greet” in many of the municipalities that make up our catchment area. Visit our website at nbdcc.ca, to find out when and where these will be held and profiles of the candidates that have registered for our events.  Thanks to Chamber staff Patti, Sue and Carol for an amazing job, as always, and to Kelli and The Grande Event Centre staff, for hosting us in our kick-off event.   The Chamber and YourTV will be co-hosting a live Mayoral debate on October 4th starting at 7:00 p.m.

Mark your calendars for September 27th when Ignite North Bay returns to the Capitol Centre.  This will be the fourth event and for anyone that hasn’t attended or watched the re-broadcast of past events, come and be inspired.  This is not a sales pitch or infomercial of any type.  These are real people, telling real stories, about real life.  It is truly an uplifting experience that can change or challenge, the way we think about our community.  Try it, I am sure you will like it.

Peter Chirico is the President & CEO of the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce.
