Young Professional of the Month – Shayn Knapp

Shayn Knapp – Best Western Hotel & Conference Centre North Bay

Shayn moved to North Bay six years ago, having grown up in Stayner, Ontario. He attended    Nipissing University in the Business Administration program. He has been a member of the Best Western North Bay for the past three and a half years, recently assuming the role of Sales and Catering Coordinator.

Shayn has worked closely with his mentor Angela Johnston in the sales department, creating opportunities to host conferences, weddings and celebrations for local families and business alike.  He enjoys the hospitality industry as not one day is the same as the last; being able to multi-task is essential as each day provides a new challenge. He looks forward to being the Director of Sales and Marketing and filling in the shoes of Mrs. Johnston upon retirement. Best Western is North Bay’s largest hotel and conference center and provides a plethora of catering and venue options  to ensure businesses of all sizes have their requests fulfilled. His position as Sales and Catering Coordinator provides him with   a unique opportunity to meet with local business men and women on a daily basis and garner a strong understanding of the importance of professional networking within the community.

During Shayn’s free time he enjoys snowboarding in the winter, baseball in the summer and has been playing poker competitively online since the start of his time in University. He is happy to call North Bay his home and looks forward to the opportunities it will present.
